…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 AM EST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 AM EST TUESDAY.

* LOCATIONS…WESTERN AND SOUTH-CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA

* HAZARD TYPES…SLEET THEN FREEZING RAIN.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS…UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* SLEET ACCUMULATIONS…A VERY THIN COATING.

* TIMING…A BRIEF PERIOD OF MIXED PRECIPITATION IN THE AFTERNOON
AND EARLY EVENING WILL TURN TO MAINLY FREEZING RAIN THEN TO
PLAIN RAIN AS THE NIGHT CONTINUES. LOCATIONS ALONG THE TURNPIKE
AND SOUTH WILL LIKELY TURN TO PLAIN RAIN QUICKER THAN OTHER
LOCATIONS.

* IMPACTS…TREES AND POWER LINES MAY GET COATED WITH SOME
ICE…BUT ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE VERY LIGHT. TRAVEL MAY BE
SLIPPERY…ESPECIALLY EARLY ON WHEN SLEET IS EXPECTED TO BE
FALLING.

* WINDS…SOUTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES…INITIALLY NEAR OR JUST BELOW FREEZING…RISING
ABOVE FREEZING THROUGH THE NIGHT.
