Fright Night at Royer Mansion will be held on Saturdays only, October 18th and 25th, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests are invited to come throughout the evening. Local author and paranormal investigator Patty Wilson will be telling ghost stories inside the mansion. Visitors will then tour the outdoor Haunted Maze before ending their experience with spooky stories around the fire.
This event may not be suitable for younger children, and guests are reminded that appropriate footwear should be worn for the Haunted Maze. The cost is $5 per person, and food will be available for sale. All proceeds from the event will be used to help maintain the historic Royer Mansion. Royer Mansion is located on Route 866 between Williamsburg and Martinsburg.
Storyteller Patty Wilson is the author of seventeen books involving the paranormal. Wilson also founded the Ghost Research Foundation, and was a consultant for the first two episodes of the popular television show “Ghost Hunters” which premiered in 2004.
Wilson’s first book, Haunted Pennsylvania, included tales of Royer Mansion. She has indicated “a strong personal connection” to Royer Mansion after first visiting there as a child. As a teenager, she worked on restoring the house with the Williamsburg Heritage Society, and over the years, has collected many stories about possible paranormal activity in the nearly 200-year-old home.
